Heidi Zapanta MS, OTR/L
Heidi earned a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Shenandoah University and a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art from Mary Baldwin University. Her own daughter has benefited from early intervention therapies. This experience inspires Heidi’s passion for supporting families and children through early intervention, parent coaching, and family-centered care. She also cares deeply about helping children who struggle with feeding. Heidi completed Feed The Peds, a comprehensive 12-week pediatric feeding therapy course. Heidi is certified as an Early Intervention Professional.
A principle that guides her parenting and occupational therapy practice is: “The surest way to succeed is always to try just one more time” (Thomas Edison).
Heidi has lived in Charlottesville for most of her life and in Africa for a few years. She values time spent with her husband and their fun and feisty daughter. She also enjoys learning about other cultures, being active in her church, creating art, and traveling.
